Meet Thomas Mouquot
Get to know a bit more about me
To be honest, I am only a fan of numbers and statistics when they are necessary to back up some facts I bring up in my articles. However, every bio needs a few milestones, and mine is no exception.
1988
Born in Bordeaux with early discovered tendencies to travel
These inherent tendencies first surfaced during my time in kindergarten, as I displayed an unmistakable desire to break free from the confines of the classroom and embark on a lifetime of adventures. Despite my deep affection for my hometown, I have embraced a life filled with constant travel and exploration, nurturing and allowing these tendencies to flourish.
2008
Graduated from University
This milestone holds immense significance in my life, as it marks a pivotal moment of growth and self-discovery. In my younger years, I found myself grappling with inexperience and uncertainty about my future. At that time, my ambition was set on becoming an air traffic controller, and I had embarked on studies to pursue this dream. However, despite my dedication to realizing this childhood aspiration, I ultimately made the brave decision to veer off that path and explore a different direction.
2009
Moving to London and first steps into Marketing
Passion serves as the crucial ingredient for my success, transforming my job from a mere occupation into a profoundly meaningful aspect of my life. If I find myself losing sight of my passions, it is an indication that my aspirations are not ambitious enough. I firmly believe in not allowing fear to hinder the pursuit of my dreams. With this unwavering mindset, I embarked on my initial marketing role in London.
2015
From Experience to Success
It is important to emphasize that even during the busiest days of my new career, I prioritized gaining practical experience rather than pursuing diplomas and certificates in advertising. My objectives revolved around actively contributing to business blogs and immersing myself in start-up projects. By showcasing my expertise in these areas, I successfully achieved my goals and attained the professional position I aspired to.ming an air traffic controller, and I had embarked on studies to pursue this dream. However, despite my dedication to realizing this childhood aspiration, I ultimately made the brave decision to veer off that path and explore a different direction.
2019
The Canadian Dream
Leaving my loved ones in the old continent has been a tough choice, but it's also a thrilling milestone. After embarking on four journeys in the first half of 2019, I finally took the leap and relocated in September. Canada holds immense opportunities, and this fresh environment instills in me the drive and perseverance to achieve success.
2021
West Coast is home!
Living in Toronto during the pandemic presented its own set of challenges. The city, usually bustling with activity, was transformed into a quieter and more isolated place. Working from home became the norm, providing opportunities for remote work and even starting a new business venture. However, the lack of social interactions and the prolonged periods of isolation took a toll on mental well-being. As the pandemic persisted, the longing for a change grew stronger, leading to a decision to move to Vancouver after two years. The move offered the promise of new experiences, the chance to make different kinds of friends, and explore a different lifestyle!
